Next Up: VIVA LAS VEGAS! Of course, our trip is much different than a typical stop in Las Vegas. We couldn’t help but drive down the strip to see Saturday night energy. As a highlight to our night, we ordered scrumptious apple pie pizza. After going to sleep at a decentish hour, we got some beauty rest in preparation for our second summit in Las Vegas.
The Richard Steele Boxing Club generously offered to let us host our event at their space. It sounds strange at first, hosting a Threads for Teens event at a boxing arena, but it made for a super cool summit! To start the day off right, we began with our goals panel, with four fabulous women. Lainie Castle (Director of Compliance, Cosmopolitan Hotel), Lynda Moore (owner, SkinBar), Kim Miramontes (Owner, College Nannies & Tutors), and Julie Murray (CEO, Moonridge Group) all generously donated their time to speak
After the panel, the girls ate lunch and got to speak with the speaker individually. Julie told the women and girls about a walk for water coming up for the fall and said she would personally pay for any girl to attend who wanted to go! Several girls took her up on that offer.
After lunch, the girls split into groups for the different stations—clothing from the truck, hair care videos from Moroccanoil, and vision board journals. Lori Williams from Las Vegas led the vision board journal workshop. She is a former Radio City Rockette and worked for the circus as well! She has had a really interesting career, and gave an awesome presentation for the girls.
I personally manned the Moroccanoil videos and had fun telling the girls all about Moroccanoil’s #InspiredbyWomen campaign. Outside, the girls had an amazing time, especially with the help of our rue21 volunteers. It was hot out there, specifically 108 degrees, but no one stopped!!
Thank you everyone for making Las Vegas amazing! <3
